About building the F13 Sd.Kfz 181 Tiger I Panzerkampfwagen VI Tank, TRUMPETER kit 07242:

After years of pause I'm back into scale modelling. The web research, mainly YouTube and Google, from a few month brought me a nice kit from an Japanese manufacturer called HASEGAWA. I picked the Pz.Kpfw VI TIGER I ausf. E 'HYBRID' (kit no. 31155) because I never heared about a Tank like this before and I was realy surprised! The kit and the choosen materials overall are from good quality but that's for nowadays nothing special remembering my first scale kit(s) in the '80. A quick first-look suggested (see the unboxing video below) everything is Ok but there was an issue with my kit, the module/sprue 6 was included twice and the module/sprue 7 was completely missing and the tracks are in realy bad conditions so that it will be hard to assemble them correct. I consulted my dealer immediately via email and he told me that replacement is no problem because the manufacturer is obliging! So I started building the F01 from the TIGER-Gruppe Fehrmann, German April 1945, the second building option in the detailed construction manual.

Long time no read here ;-). Sadly some parts of the sproket and idler wheels where missing in this kit so I couldn't build the complete model of the F01. Tbh you already know that and the dealer who sold me this kit was so kind and gave me a complete new kit for free instead of a replacement. So I decided to leave this build of this kit incomplete and putted the wreck I've glued together from the parts of this kit on the top of a round diorama display which I have build from cardboard taken from food packages without the wheels and tracks mounted at the hull. I glued them with cyanocrylate as loose spare parts close to the tank so that they look fallen apart and left behind and added a layer of an acrylic putty over this metal waste so that that all look a little bit drown in the mud.

I am playing around with this kit for almost four years now and still having fun with it. You can count this as "pro" for this kit imho. The manufacturer did a really good job at this one.
